China trademarks for e-commerce
If you source from China, sell into China, or list on Chinese marketplaces, a US or EU registration does not automatically create trademark rights in China. A China registration provides the main registration-based protection, and earlier filing dates usually matter.

Territory, customs, and marketplaces are different systems
An e-commerce brand has three separate questions: which trademark office protects the relevant territory, whether China Customs has a recorded right to reference, and whether a marketplace program accepts the mark. One answer does not automatically settle the other two. For the territorial rule, read the durable first-to-file guide.
This post stays with the channel-specific questions: customs exposure for goods moving through China and marketplace eligibility for the stores where you sell. The manufacturing-specific risk belongs in the manufacturing guide.
An earlier registration can create customs risk
A Chinese trademark owner can record the right with China Customs. Customs protection covers imports and exports and can lead to goods being inspected or detained when they are suspected of infringing a recorded right. See the China Customs intellectual-property recordation guide.
An earlier registration held by someone else can therefore create customs risk for branded exports while ownership is disputed. The result depends on the registration, the goods, the customs record, and the evidence in the particular shipment. Securing the filing early is simpler than trying to resolve that conflict during production.
Match the filing to the goods and the marketplace
The goods and services in the filing must match the real business. Use trademark classes and items rather than copying a generic seller list. Amazon Brand Registry is separate: Amazon currently requires a pending or registered mark from a designated trademark office associated with a corresponding Amazon store. A China filing does not automatically satisfy that requirement. Read how a China trademark relates to Amazon Brand Registry, then check Amazon’s current Brand Registry eligibility for the store where you sell.
If customers or suppliers use a Chinese-character name for the brand, evaluate it as a separate mark. The Chinese-character filing guide explains why the Latin-letter registration does not automatically cover it.
File early
Set the China filing decision before supplier, customs, or marketplace work exposes the brand. The filing date is controllable; a later dispute is not.
Ginbing files for businesses outside mainland China through its own CNIPA-recorded agency: USD 150 per class, including the CNIPA filing fee and up to 10 goods or services items. start a China trademark filing.
